I have so much to be thankful for. The small blessings are so often overlooked because of the quotidian stress and hustle. That is why I love Thanksgiving. The focus is on being grateful and family. Um, and food. You know I love food.
This Thanksgiving I am particularly thankful for my health, my husband’s health, and my family’s health.
I am thankful that I never go hungry.
I am thankful for family: that I have one who loves me unconditionally; that they are supportive and loving; and that they help me each in his or her own way.
I am thankful to live in a country where free speech, freedom of assembly and freedom of the press are taken for granted. Within me, I hope that others in this tumultuous time remember and recognize that freedom.
I am thankful for the men and women who fight to protect these freedoms for us every day both at home and abroad.
I am thankful for the American Dream. My family and my husband are living proof that the American Dream lives on.
I believe in this Country’s capability for change. We should never stop improving ourselves, our laws and our values. United we stand.
I am thankful that I, as a woman, am free to do anything a man can do without question or fear of punishment. I am not oppressed or repressed for being a woman and for that I am profoundly grateful.
And on the lighter side…
I am thankful for my cat, Mini, because she is adorably quirky and like the feline version of me. In brief, she found her way to me, and my life is better for it.
I am significantly thankful for this little piece of the Internet that I call my own.
God bless you and your family on this day, and don’t forget to similarly take a few moments to remember what you are thankful for.
Oh my gosh! In fact, I almost forgot…
I’m thankful specifically for CUPCAKES!
And pie. Pumpkin pie to be precise today.
