This Cinnamon Raisin French Toast is make with cinnamonraisin bread and is soaked in a cinnamon custard. A little spice, some sweetnessfrom the raisins and all the maple syrup! Breakfast is served.
Beat the eggs, add the milk, salt and spices. Dip slices of bread into the mixture, soaking each side.
Sauté in a little oil or butter if you are feeling decadent. Cook until both sides are a golden brown and the center is cooked to your liking. Serve hot with maple syrup or powdered sugar.
Notes
I reduced the salt by half and added the cinnamon and nutmeg. Nana (and my Mother) ALWAYS added cinnamon and nutmeg, and without them, French Toast seems bland. Base Recipe from the American Woman’s Cookbook
