Just 4 ingredients! No added sugar or artificial ingredients! This Low Calorie Peanut Butter Banana Spinach Smoothie is here to make your New Year’s resolution a breeze.
Oh heeey, January! How did you get here so fast?
Did some of those Christmas cookies linger a bit too long on the hips? No? Just me? Or perhaps you just like delicious smoothies that pack in healthy spinach and tons of flavor without a million calories? Me too. Looking to do a total reset? Start with this ginger detox drink then move on to healthy smoothies and healthy filling salad recipes!
It looks like the healthy green smoothie that it is but it tastes just like a decadent, calorie rich peanut butter banana milk shake!
The secret is PB2. I found this magical stuff at the grocery store and haven’t looked back. It’s essentially roasted peanuts pressed to remove 85% of the fat! 2 tablespoons has only 45 calories and there are no weird ingredients. Get out!
[This post is totally not sponsored; I just had to share!]
This flavorful smoothie clocks in at only 235 calories but still has over 13 grams of filling protein. I’ve been fueling up with this smoothie post workout and powering through the rest of the holiday craziness!
Fuel up without filling out. That’s the tagline for this smoothie, because what self-respecting smoothie doesn’t have a tagline? It could also be the tagline of this strawberry banana spinach smoothie, which is equally delicious.
You can further slash the calories by using unsweetened almond milk, but you will also forgo some of that filling protein. Your call!
Low Calorie Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened soymilk
- 1 banana frozen, cut in ½ inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons PB2
- 1 cup spinach
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a blender, Magic Bullet or Nutribullet. I use a Nutribullet because it processes it finer and it’s already in a cup to go!
I’ve never heard of PB2, but I definitely need to check it out. And, you know Smoothies are one of my most favorite things ever! They are the breakfast of champions, I swear! Pinned!
You do! Smoothie lovers must try this one! Thanks for the pin!!!
This is just what I need — a beautiful, delicious green smoothie to help me detox! Me and everyone else, right? This looks delicious, Lindsey! Pinned. 🙂
For serious, Marcie! I can’t wait to get back to eating these after vacation!
I’ve been in love with green smoothies lately! Definitely have to make it for breakfast tomorrow! Just trying to get back in good shape after all the holiday treats and desserts. Have a great NYE Lindsey!
I hope you tried it, Mira! It’s so beyond easy! And I totally get it – you’re talking to someone who made twice as many cookies as usual! 🙂
I really need this right now. My husband and I spent all day yesterday putting up new field fencing around our pond to keep our geese from escaping (they keep getting into our neighbors winter wheat field). It was well past dark when we finished. Cold, hungry and no time to fix what I had planned we chose a quick trip into town for the closest fast food (Carl’s Jr.) Bad decision. Fast food make me so sick to my stomach. I think that this smoothie will fix me up nicely.
I hate fast food too, Karen! Sometimes it is totally unavoidable…This smoothie should totally help!
This smoothie looks delicious, mate! And after all of the Christmas desserts (and beers), I can totally see myself sitting down on the couch with a big, green smoothie. I might have to dip a cookie or two into it, though. Is that allowed? 🙂
Serious, David! And cookies are always allowed.
This smoothie looks fantastic, Lindsey! I just made my first green smoothie with peanut butter a few days ago and I’m so hooked! I’m loving your banana combo! Pinned!
Just the smoothie you need after all the Holidays desserts! looks great, gorgeous pictures!
Thanks, Manali!
This is just what I need right now! I’ve been thinking about smoothies this week and how I need to get back into making them. I love your photos in this post – gorgeous! Pinned!
Thanks, Kristine!!! And thanks for the pin 🙂
